Mission at the International University of Ho Chi Minh City , 4-9 December 2023

Professors Cassi, Alfieri and Bellingeri, of the Network Unit of the University of Parma, the network science laboratory directed by Prof. Cassi, participated in a mission from 4 to 9 December (2023) in Ho Chi Minh at the laboratory of Prof. Quang Nguyen of Ho Chi Minh International University. The mission is part of the project ‘Robustness and important Components of Real-World Social Weighted Networks’ in the field of ICT, funded by MAECI.

The mission allowed us to get to know each other  after years of remote collaboration due to the pandemic. This has tightened the collaboration and strengthened the ties between the two laboratories.

During the mission the research teams worked on and discussed recent research results which will culminate in a new scientific publication expected in 2024.

We then discussed and outlined the possible research work for the next 3 years, identifying the issues to be addressed in the field of social networks, identifying the respective roles, and dividing the tasks between laboratories.

Prof. Bellingeri gave a lecture/presentation in the field of network science. The presentation entitled ‘Network science: Theory and real-world application’ was followed by researchers, doctoral students and students from the International University of Ho Chi Minh.
